How One Article Get Me 200 More Subscribers

by Andi Putra on October 22, 2009

One of the ways that you can use to build your list of subscribers is by doing article marketing. I believe most of you have known and understand the benefits and the process involved in marketing article. If not, I have written quite a concise post on how to do just that. But what should you do after you’ve submitted your articles to article directories, like EZine Articles or Go Articles? And, can you use the articles you’ve written for those directories to further market your opt-in page or your site? Let’s tackle those questions and get more subscribers for our newsletter.

The Tools We’ll Use

Let’s start with the tools we’ll use to carry out this mission.

1. Google Translation Tool

2. Article Compare Tool

3. Primo PDF

The Steps

step

1. Double Translate Your Article

After you’ve written your article and submit it to different article directories, it’s time to squeeze more juice out of it. Gran your article and submit to the Google Translate tool. Your article can be in .txt format or .doc format. It doesn’t matter. You can even just type in your articles into the text box. After you’ve put your article inside the tool, translate your article from English to other language, like German or even Chinese. Then, translate it back to English. You’ll now have the same article with different word choices and slightly different sentence structures.

2. Compare and Fix

After translating your article, you need to compare how different your original article is to your second article. You can use the online Affilorama Article Compare Tool (only available for paid members) or the Mass Article Checker software that I use, (not available for Mac). Your choice. These tools will compare your articles and generate a percentage of difference between your articles. Shoot for 30% or above. If it’s lower than 30%, you’ll need to fix your translated article by changing its sentence structure in some paragraphs or delete sentences and add new ones until the difference is 30% or above. Form my experience, the article you get from the Google Translate Tool usually have a percentage of difference of 20-25% to your original version. So, it shouldn’t be that hard to reach 30%.

3. Proofread & Optimize Your Translated Article

Check for spelling, grammar, and other errors inside your translated article. You want your article to be legible and easily understandable. After that, optimize it for the same keyword you’re targeting when you submit the original article to the article directories. Just in case your keywords are missing in translation. Use Traffic Travis to help you with the optimization effort.

4. Syndicate to Web 2.0 Sites

Now it’s time to build your Squidoo lens and your Hub Pages’ page. Create a lens that contains the keyword you’re targeting and put your article inside. Enter the appropriate tags for your lens so that your lens have more chance to rank high in Squidoo categories page or search engines. Although that won’t happen until you’ve added more modules (contents) into your lens. But for now, just leave it like this (I’ll talk more about Squidoo on my next post). You can follow the same steps you’ve done with your Squidoo lens for your Hub Pages’ page. Find URL address that contains your keywords and put your article inside. Remember to have a link back to your opt-in page in both of these sites.

5. Convert to PDF & Syndicate

Grab you original article and convert it using Primo PDF into pdf format. You can add EBook cover to your original article or add more images inside first, if you choose to. Now you have an EBook. Submit this EBook to PDF directories, like Scribd, eSnips, DocStoc, or Yudu. Remember to ask them to subscribe to your newsletter by putting a link or two inside your EBook that links to your opt-in page. Tell them the benefits they’ll obtain by subscribing.

This is the strategy I used to obtain 200 more subscribers into my email list in a week or so. Be sure to give it a try and tell me how you do. Feel free to leave comments below or tweet it if you like it.
